Cynthia Rust is a mother of three, grandmother of five, and has been been married to her husband Terry for over 40 years. She has an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology, a Masters in Special Education, and 30+ years of experience as a special education teacher. Despite her background, nothing could prepare her for raising her son Randy who was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis at nine months old. Cynthia served as a Board Member of the TS Alliance during Randy’s childhood and is still active within the TS community. She enjoys spending time at the lake with family, golfing, volunteering through her church, and traveling. Cynthia resides in Mendota Heights, Minnesota.
She’s always been a storyteller, but writing her first book, “It’s Nice to Meet Me Too,” has fulfilled her dream to chronicle her experience raising a son with special needs and shed some light (and a little humor) on life with a mentally handicapped child.
